Great couple of days hosting @MurdochUni researchers. AI has reached pulse breeding! Exciting times ahead! @NSW_AGRONOMY will be providing critical field phenotyping data relevant to our growing regions.
Pleasure to visit the pulse crop experiments, witnessing cutting-edge research at @NSW_AGRONOMY, @ChickpeaAus, @Sydney_Uni, & @UniofAdelaide. Exciting times ahead with #PulsesGeneticGain project by @theGRDC as we power up pulses using innovative genomics & #AI technologies!🧬🌾

Happy to share that our research "Rapid and High Throughput Hydroponics Phenotyping Method for Evaluating Chickpea Resistance to Phytophthora Root Rot" has been published in @Plants_MDPI
https://t.co/GnyI3Duarz Kudos to @uowMMaED team for the designs and analysis @ChickpeaAus

🪲Russian wheat aphid is confirmed north of Narrabri in low numbers. Please note: spraying low population will kill beneficials. 🧐Monitor your cereals for presence of rolled leaves with yellow strips. @NSWDPI_AGRONOMY @theGRDC @GRDCNorth @cesaraustralia

Tolerances for retaining weather damaged canola seed is extremely small. Any visual symptoms is likely to produce seed with low vigor (& hence poor establishment for next year). Conduct a seed vigor test if you have any doubt. @GRDCNorth @NSWDPI_AGRONOMY

Good rain = chickpeas with high biomass= higher risk of ascochyta and botrytis. Keep an eye on your crops. It would be a shame to see all that potential go to waste @grdcwest @nswdpi @nswdpi_agronomy

Thanks for the visit Mariano! Working together to identify key drivers of yield in Australian chickpea. "Sometimes to move ahead you must look back..." @theGRDC @NSWDPI_AGRONOMY
@DronNicole it was good to see the historical Australian chickpea collections growing that well in Tamworth, as part of our collaborative project with NSW Department of Primary Industries. We are excited about comparing the results with our trials in SA.
