The medical supply chain remains broken. People who need masks, gowns and eye protection cannot get them. Call your Senators to demand their support of the HEROES Act! @getusppe @AmplifyThisNow @choo_ek @meganranney @EmmyBetz @JananiRavMD @jeremyfaust @RealCedricDark @darakass

This and so much more. Bodily autonomy is no place for the government. Furthermore medical decision making is a collaboration between people and their medical providers - not the government.

Pro-lifers don't like complexity. At 17 weeks my placenta detached and he was much too small. I thought I felt my baby's frantic attempts to breathe. My OBGYN advised me to terminate the pregnancy, there wasn't much time. But I couldn't.

Please join us tonight as we honor our communities’ losses. There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel that has been lit by the hard working scientists who creates the vaccines, but tonight we save space for those for whom it came too late. #vigil4covidvictims

My family will be joining the vigil tonight honoring those who died from #COVID19. We will be lighting candles and spending time in silence. If we spent 1 sec honoring each of the 400k people who died in the US, that would be more than 6700 min, 111 hr, or 4.6 days. #vigil

“The election wasn’t rigged. I was wrong to imply it was. This has gotten out of hand. I didn’t sign up for an armed insurrection. I swore an oath to the Constitution, and I let the moment blind me and imperil democracy itself. I am sorry.” - Actually no one has said this yet.

I’m old enough to remember when a Black woman who was having a mental health crisis breached the barriers with her car at The Capitol and the Capitol police promptly shot and killed her w/ her 13-month old baby in the car.

Infuriated on behalf of the healthcare providers who couldn’t get their vaccines today (but still have to show up to their shifts tonight) because of Trump inciting and encouraging a violent coup.

All COVID-19 vaccine appointments scheduled after 4 pm, have been canceled. Healthcare providers should visit https://t.co/Ko2X2WIQ8L to reschedule for a future date. #VaccinateDC

Excellent graphic detailing what we can expect if we do not change our behaviors as we move into winter. Historically, the more common cororaviruses are at a low in Oct. Cases climb in Nov/Dec before reaching a plateau in Jan/Feb followed by a slow decrease. Rethink #Quarantine

Winter is coming! If we do not get this virus under control now, we are in for a perfect and terrible storm We are not taking the expected seasonality of this SEASONAL virus seriously! Instead, we've assumed our efforts are responsible for decreased cases this summer... 1/x

“HCWs in the ED (31.64%) were more likely to contract COVID-19 compared with HCWs in the ICU (23.17%) and inpatient settings (25.53%).” All very high rates and very important statistics for understanding how we can improve our protections of frontline workers. @getusppe

Thank you all who completed/helped disseminate our survey on health care workers’ infection & mental health. Our findings concluded that 29% of healthcare workers of 2K+ respondents contracted COVID, higher infection rate those working in pre-hospital, ICUs & EM Department. 1/2

His ever escalating levels of hypocrisy are mind-blowing. Will US limitations on the funding of #stemcellresearch be lifted? Does this mean his administration will stop opposing #electiveabortions? ... Since that’s how @Regeneron’s therapy is made... https://t.co/OOCClLH4zA

The media is referring to last night’s VP debate as “civilized”, a term rooted in colonizer ideology. Even though there was no yelling or bullying, Pence lied, evaded. gaslighted and interrupted throughout the entire debate. His behavior was violent towards Harris in its own way.

This is exactly right. It’s not pandemic fatigue, but rather frustration because it doesn’t have to be this way. It doesn’t have to be this way.

What Trump’s tweet actually says: 1. Based on past behavior he won’t be isolating. 2. He is not afraid of COVID because he has a personal doctor & free access to one of the best hospitals in the world. 3. Dexamethasone makes him feel awesome! Now how about #UniversalHealthCare??

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!

This is where cigarette smoke analogy is perfect. Picture Trump exhaling smoke for 1.5 hours in a closed room. Do you think @JoeBiden would have smelled it? 6 ft does not work indoors-hopefully room had excellent ventilation and the air draft was blowing away from Biden. (2/end)

It is a privilege of our democracy that we have debates in which we can hear from our president that he will not denounce white supremacy, and in fact says, “Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.” It is also depressing that it has come to this.

I’ve lost count of the number of diabetic patients I’ve treated in the ICU when they can’t afford and run out of their insulin.

"we've got insulin everywhere, it's like water." I'm a physician. It's not. Raise your hand if you've admitted a DKA patient who couldn't afford their insulin.
