It is hard to know the full story here, but unfortunately, it is plausible enough. We need legislation that allows patients to sue their insurance companies for malpractice when their denials of coverage result in substandard care.
WTF A Social Worker at a hospital had a patient come in with a severed hand & it has to be reattached within 90 minutes or he will lose it! His Doctor gave the prior authorization,but the Insurance company says it’s not his dominant hand & wants conservative treatment like Motrin
