I wish Dick Goodwin could have seen this beautiful tribute by Brian Williams. 7 years ago today Dick died. While I miss him so very much, he stays alive in my heart & mind through the stories I tell. He was funny, principled, passionate & believed deeply in the promise of America

I appreciate joining Anderson @AC360 to discuss the importance of learning & understanding our history—all of it. It is disturbing that in 1963 (not 1863!) the Children's Crusade faced assault. But that action fired the conscience of America and led to the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
