Speak the truth, Brother Richard. Speak the truth!
Richard Petty slammed stage points and modern tweaks as “a bunch of crap,” backing the traditional full-season format and voicing frustration with today’s championship system. Full story on The Daily Downforce https://t.co/CLLlR8Iqo9

"He's the greatest pitcher I ever saw. I can still see that big curveball. It had a great arc on it and he never bounced it in the dirt. Sandy Koufax's curve had a lot more spin than anybody else's, it spun like a fastball coming out of his hand and he had the fastball of a pure

@ClearEnoughPod @jwlpc @DonnieSpinks @JoshWeinrich Hanging out....while his teammates ended up 11th or worse in points. FInal 10 races had magins of victory between .095-1.2 seconds, except for one JJ drubbing at NHIS. The racing WAS the entertainment. No amount of reracking is going to impact the NFL at all next 9 weeks.

The King knows.
Not surprisingly, @therichardpetty isn't a fan of playoffs or stages. "They’re trying to keep up with other sports. They’re trying to come up with new ideas. And so far, I haven’t seen any of them really working." https://t.co/aZdNlsvefg

For those who say that nobody would watch a #NASCAR season finale if the championship was already locked up before the race began… IndyCar had one of its most viewed races of the season with the title already locked up. Full season points. No excuses.
The final @IndyCarOnFOX race of the season scored 1,142,000 viewers Sunday on FOX, up +136% from last year's finale. The race peaked at 1,388,000 viewers from 4:30 to 4:45 PM ET📈 ➡️ Full season recap to follow!

The media advocates for the playoffs more than anyone. They are addicted to the guaranteed spelled out storylines that the playoffs "create." They don't want to work to find storylines, they prefer to be spoon-fed.
@LASTCARonBROCK @DGodfatherMoody @TALLADEGA It seems like Dave is proving your original point that the championship is treated like the only storyline these days

If you think three cars close together on the track with two incapable of passing the leader because of dirty air and the TV announcer screaming that this is incredible is good racing, your today’s fan and your exactly who nascar wants watching.

What a fucking fraudulent battle for the win. Love seeing 2nd and 3rd place run down 1st from miles back but get stuck because of dirty air. This is literally the 550 package all over again. Fuck this garbage ass race car.

IndyCar putting on another great race even though their championship has already been decided. Turns out if there’s a checkered flag to chase every driver still wants it. Fans are hyped to be there too. Wild concept, wonder if the chief and radio hosts can process it.

Okay I’ll say it. There is no such thing as a “good” playoff model. I don’t care how many races are in a round, bonus points given, who would have won under certain playoff models, etc. Resetting the points is bogus and will always make prior races almost irrelevant.
Be careful what you wish for if you want the one-race playoff to go away: @joeylogano says he is on the playoff committee and has seen some alternate format models that show he would have won four championships instead of three.

@jeff_gluck He’s full of sh!t. Sorry but, trying to do a playoff in racing is wrong. It’s not head to head like the stick and ball sports. There’s 36 or so other cars that can get in the way and determine the outcome.

Why were we racing so hard when all you had to do we ride around and run 7th all the time and win the championship? Wins don’t matter they say.
Dale Earnhardt and @markmartin battle for the lead at the 1993 Southern 500 @TooToughToTame. Mark would go on to win the race, his 4th win in a row during the ‘93 season!

@jwlpc Steve O’Donnell doesn’t have a clue. He is an overpaid, underworked, guy that sits behind a desk. I wonder if he even know who Bill Sr & Bill Jr are and how hard they worked to get NASCAR built and this idiot is going to destroy it

You literally withheld tens and tens of millions of federal dollars from hurricane victims for years and was investigated for doing so. Then you promised to do better. Then the failures of Helene happened This is one area you might want to avoid.
The President put Michael Whatley in charge of federal recovery for western North Carolina. Whatley is failing North Carolina families. https://t.co/UX9rPeD3GV
