Looking for some NASCAR to watch over the offseason? Check out this thread for some classic races! Some you may have seen, others might have flown under the radar!

To all my fellow NASCAR fans out there, as we enter this offseason with a lot of uncertainty for 2026, I recommend taking some time to rewatch old NASCAR races over the winter. In this day and age they're very accessible! Almost every race from the late 80s thru COT is on YouTube

Dave is a fantastic announcer who does excellent work on raceday, and has for decades. Unfortunately, his attitude towards the fans the rest of the time remains a golden example of what's wrong with all too much of NASCAR's media

If anyone in this sport deserves to lose his platform and audience, it's Dave Moody. I have never seen someone so disrespectful towards fans of NASCAR. U can not have a discussion with him. He would rather block u. Then admit you're right, and he's wrong. He is completely useless

I want to believe you. There isn't a literal voice in their ear saying, "NASCAR wants you to say X" ofc But the fact is most of the SXM shows don't pass the sniff test, nor do most of the hosts based on their interactions with fans on this app outside of a controlled environment

I hear people say this a lot, but…nah. That’s simply not true. There’s no agenda with the producers answering the phones. They type in your name and location so the host can see it and the host picks the line to bring on next. They’re not banning people w/differing opinions.

It's not a big deal but I can't wait for somebody to use a daytime ASR for the first time since 1991 as a "see, NASCAR gives old fans what they want!" point lol

Some thoughts looking at Cup times: -All-Star race 3p ET (and that typically is main event listed) so depending on format, could be done before Indy 500 bumping/pole that day -Southern 500 at 5p ET (not 6) only 1-hr change but seems big -Chicagoland 6p ET pretty much night race

I think this played out over the course of history. A lot of pro-36 fans have left, and might come back if we go that route. And if a sizable portion of the alternate plans would watch either way, this sounds like a win

I should mention: The 36-race people are a LOT more married to their view than the other camps. The elimination people are like "we want playoffs but we wouldn't stop watching if it was 36," whereas some of the 36-race people say they would stop watching (and they prob would).

I’ve called into Sirius before, and someone talks to you before they put you on the show. To see what you are wanting to say. They’re ABSOLUTELY putting pro-playoff people on intentionally. To try to change the narrative. But we still here boys, BURY THE PLAYOFFS

Polls on X, Reddit and YouTube keep getting similar results (within 10 pct). But for some reason, Sirius callers seem far more pro-playoff.

I loved both @NASCAR Dirt to Daytona and #NASCAR Thunder 2004. In my opinion, Dirt to Daytona had the better career mode but Thunder had the better gameplay. #eSports | #SimRacing

This is in response to yet another poll (in this instance Toby Christie's) of thousands of NASCAR fans on what points format they'd prefer to see with over 60% in favor of Full Season, ~30% in favor of an older Chase, and <10% in favor of playoffs

Dave, if you are presented with numbers and respond "no, you don't know," you are using the reality that nobody knows literally everything to shamefully discredit numerous and repeatable examples of people actually trying to understand something and coming to reliable conclusions

It's no wonder nothing gets done if all you do is pay lip service to the vague concept of "open discussion" and "positive changes" while going out of your way to find reasons to ignore obvious statistical results

Well the Champion of Open Discourse himself finally blocked me (again), while falsely accusing me of rooting for the sport to fail. Someday the pot will meet the kettle

@AlextheAdm1ral They asked us yesterday whether we think Ty Gibbs is at the peak of his career or not. You would think the playoff question would be a little more important feedback to them.

I wonder why NASCAR has yet to poll their "Fan Council" on this (I mean I know exactly why)

For what it’s worth I ran this poll on my YouTube channel. Just for the reference that it’s pretty similar on there as compared to X and Reddit.

Nothing too huge out of court today. A few notes on trial: -Trial starts Dec. 1 -Both sides think trial can be done in 10 days -Will pick nine for jury first morning (six plus 3 alternates) -Among 30-35 witness will be potentially 8 from other teams -No progress toward settling

After about four hours of arguments on pretrial motions, taking lunch break and then resume with hopes of getting through the rest today. No big bombshells although at one point, judge did say request to limit Hendrick/Penske testimony/deposition topics was "an absurd request."

Update: The judge denied Hendrick and Penske’s motion to not be asked about certain topics and said unless NASCAR committed not to call them as witnesses, then they had to be deposed without the “special treatment” they were asking for.

But taking a tv deal that they knew would lead to a 15% drop is totally ok.

Me too. But NASCAR has said multiple times that every hour the race is moved forward on a Sunday afternoon, it's a 5 percent viewership hit. So they do these start times to get closer to hitting the sweet spot for peak viewership and boost the numbers.

So you give more points for a win and the points workout. This is all that was needed 20 years ago. Instead we got gimmicks that have almost destroyed the sport and chased away HUGE numbers of fans that if you’d asked them they’d have said nothing could ever make them leave.

NASCAR is used to having its' cake and eating it too, but you can't place arbitrary limits on depositions without some very, *very* good reasons.
