I just heard the sad news that actress Tanya Roberts passed away.
Tanya was a beautiful person, inside and out. I will always remember Tanya for being incredibly sweet and for her genuine love of animals. She was beloved by Beastmaster fans everywhere. RIP.

On and off for the last few months I've been working at a film restoration facility meticulously reviewing the original camera negatives from the Bubba Ho-tep shoot 20 years ago and overseeing their conversion frame by frame into a vivid new 4k master.

As a young filmmaker I was blown away by Rip Torn's performance in PAYDAY. We became friends working together on THE BEASTMASTER. I'll always look back fondly on meeting up at his little crash pad for lunches in Malibu- and the great Hollywood stories he'd tell. RIP dear friend.

Hey Scott- You were right on. Here's the rig from Phantasm III mausoleum. That's the problem with always shooting into a reflective sphere- you can't hide anything!
This sentinel sphere shot in

’s PHANTASM (‘79) was all done in-camera - you can see it in the reflection. Rotating ball mounted on plexiglas sheet w/see-thru plexi arms holding plexi sheet.
VFX are great, but as a rule, if you shoot it real, it will look better.
