@joelansdale Last month, I was given an Audible credit for a (month in advance) early birthday present, because my wife knew that I wanted this audiobook. So I pre-ordered it, & waited until August 19th. As soon as I got it, I started listening to it, finished it pretty fast, & I loved it.

Thank you! "This is, without a doubt, one of the best short story collections I have ever read, and that is saying something. These tales run the gamut from crime to horror with consummate skill." https://t.co/k9qSAOvxUe

Another great Hap & Leonard novel from @joelansdale! I’ve been a fan of the series for a long time and hope this is isn’t the last time Hap Collins has a story to tell Joe!

@SomeOkieDude @joelansdale I had read all the Hap and Leonard series up to the point the tv show came out. After seeing Michael play Leonard, I have not been able to unsee him in the subsequent stories... he fit my mental image perfectly without distorting the subsequent reads.

Elder gods. Demon nuns. Desert zombies. A haunted train. And Elvis. THE ESSENTIAL HORROR of @joelansdale is "twisted, unsettling, and man, it's good." READ the full #bookreview @ Joe's: [ @TachyonPub ] https://t.co/m8W33lxg0c

The Essential Horror of Joe R. Lansdale contains sixteen punches to the gut, is 100% unsettling, and man, it’s good.

I remember being crushed when I heard. He played my favorite character in The Wire. He was also wonderful in the woefully underrated Hap & Leonard by the champion mojo storyteller himself @joelansdale. He is dearly missed.
People forget about him. We will not. Remembering Michael K. Williams. November 22, 1966-Sept. 6, 2021

@goodreads Research on favorite arcs in comics. I’ll probably re-read @joelansdale run on Jonah Hex & Ennis’s Preacher & Hellblazer.

In HATCHET GIRLS by @joelansdale, Hap and Leonard find themselves in a vicious and ridiculous situation --- just as the best friends may finally be calling it quits. @mulhollandbooks @HachetteUS Check out our review! https://t.co/qETtM8nrPN

@toomuchhorror @joelansdale @DavidJSchow @YerPalSkipp @craigspector @RealCliveBarker I have to chuckle at that as well, Will...once that movement became a bit of a parody of itself, most involved fled from the label. That said, it's a pretty cool snapshot in time for those of us who were around to see it.

@toomuchhorror @joelansdale @DavidJSchow @YerPalSkipp @craigspector @RealCliveBarker An important anthology, though the short-lived movement became a bit too self-important and performative but I suppose that authorial cockiness was part of the scene. The battle of splatterpunk versus quiet horror (of the Charles L. Grant variety) was, in hindsight, pretty silly.

#SPLATTERPUNK! You know it, you love it, here are some OGs. It’s not just gore for gore’s sake either—these writers walked the mean streets & reported back the horrors they found there in brilliant blistering prose. Also great #PaperbacksfromHell-era covers!

Because of TUBI and @joelansdale and watching Hap and Leonard, I've remembered an old 'Maverick Jane' short story idea so I've been scribbling down the pieces that I remember, even making characters ' names. I reckon I could write most of it, and it's curing my migraine.👍
