I don’t know why people find it funny when black ppl whose ancestors left as slaves come to Ghana and have an emotional/spiritual experience at the castles or beaches.
Even me that I’m a Ghanaian living in Ghana, I’m always triggered when I go to the Castle. Feeling the stench,darkness & dampness in the slave dungeons & knowing what happened there. Then walking to the beach knowing your ancestors walked there & never came back. It’s sobering 💔

Yesterday was my last day as an internal med HO.Started the day with reviews at 7,ward rounds at 9 and Cardiac clinic at 2. Ended up assisting in a pericardiocentesis till 6pm.I really felt good about myself & planned to go out and celebrate.I slept 💀🤣

It’s really criminal the number of hours we put in and the amount of work involved. Overworked, under compensated and worse of all, terrible work conditions.
Its difficult to explain to anyone who doesn't see it first hand.
Seeing in real time how being a doctor is draining my sister. How can you work 7 days a week, come home from day shift at 4pm with night shift starting at 8pm. This isn't just unfair, it feels criminal.
