Traffic calming construction on Federal St. begins Wednesday, July 2! 👷🚧. A single-lane closure will be required during construction, with flaggers stationed throughout the work area to allow alternating traffic. Hours of construction will be 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Data collected indicated that more than 54% of vehicles traveling on Federal Street exceeded the posted speed limit of 25 mph. From 2020 to 2024, there have been six recorded crashes at this intersection involving pedestrians, many resulting in serious injuries.
