Data collected indicated that more than 54% of vehicles traveling on Federal Street exceeded the posted speed limit of 25 mph. From 2020 to 2024, there have been six recorded crashes at this intersection involving pedestrians, many resulting in serious injuries.

A segment of the N. Shore Trail in Pittsburgh’s Chateau neighborhood closed temporarily on Thursday June 26th. The temporary closure comes after a small portion of the trail eroded, preventing safe crossing.
