Enniskillen, Northern Ireland
Joined June 2011
This was a brazen and deeply disturbing attack on those simply going about their daily job. It’s very shocking to hear of the use of firearms and threats to life in the quiet community of Aughnacloy. I urge anyone with information to come forward to the PSNI immediately.
We are currently at the scene of an armed robbery at a filling station in Aughnacloy. We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to come forward and contact us on 101. https://t.co/IrE1gR2HGH

The Ulster Unionist Party demand that the Irish Government conduct a full, independent review of what was agreed, who lobbied for it, and who sanctioned it, as a matter of urgency.

Met Invest NI CEO Kieran Donoghue yesterday, to discuss investment in Fermanagh & South Tyrone. We had a very candid conversation about Invest NI’s operations in the South West. Our region is distinct and deserves a seat on the Board, to delivery real jobs and real investment.

Always a pleasure to meet Colin & Michael from Hospitality Ulster, true champions of the sector. Great to see a Fermanagh man at the helm! I fully support their campaign to cut hospitality VAT & reform business rates. Proud to back tourism & hospitality. @HospUlster @uuponline

Northern Ireland faces a choice, Do we stick with a broken system that short-changes staff, leaves patients waiting, and lets down our workforce, or do we act. The Executive must approve Minister Nesbitt’s Direction and affirm pay parity.

Absolutely shameful scenes at QUB Student's Union today, following the deliberate intimidation of the PSNI. Our University's must be open space for learning and sharing views - not silencing or bullying others out. @QUBelfast
I utterly condemn the targeting of the PSNI stall. This was blatant intimidation of both staff and students who wanted to engage. Campus must be open to all, not a place where some try to silence others. #QUB

I didn’t when I wrote you, I did in the chamber & you said you offered the family a meeting - did you or didn’t you? ‘While prisons do not get everything right and I’ll be the first to say that’ - your words. It not the Prison Service it’s the Justice Dept not being coherent.
I apologised publicly: I am willing to do so in person. I said I am willing to meet the family (Doug didn't request a meeting when he wrote). I didn't blame @NIPrisons; I accurately described its role. I have requested a review of pre-release testing. Doug is being disingenuous.

Good news - Northern Ireland has the makings of being a strong centre for our & @NATO defence. Hopefully @Economy_NI will shelve its ideological bias and get strongly behind this initiative. @InvestNI promoting defence is a must

The government anticipates that up to 50,000 new defence jobs could be created by 2035.

Great to this👏 Well done @RobinSwann_MP on continuing to champion our Farming families and our rural communities. Thank you Fleur for this meaningful engagement.
Productive meeting yesterday with @RobinSwann_MP and the Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster. We discussed a range of concerns facing NI's rural young people, including inheritance tax. I also highlighted how the UK-EU SPS agreement will deliver for our farmers and the agri sector.

The Health Minister’s plan is delivering real results. These numbers show progress but it’s about people, not statistics. Behind every procedure is a patient who has waited, worried, and is now finally getting the care they deserve. This Minister is putting People first 👏
The Health Minister has welcomed "very real progress" in efforts to reduce the longest waiting times. The Department is showing reductions in long waits, expanded capacity, and fairer care across Northern Ireland. ➡️Read more: https://t.co/RvKek9eX0E

On this day in 1945, World War II ended in the Far East, with the surrender of the Japanese to Allied Command. We pause to remember the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of those who served and those who waited at home. We will remember them🌹
