Grateful for my wife Chelsea for her strength throughout this process. Also grateful for our families (biological & basketball) for their support.
I’m happy you posted this photo, Aaron, because if you didn’t, no one would’ve known I got married.
I appreciate all the kind words and well-wishes in the replies. Coronavirus bumped us out of our venue, but we still got it done.
Absolutely floored at the response we got for our inaugural
@HBUSkillsSummit
. The 90+ players there bought in to what we were trying to accomplish with this camp and gave effort and energy in each skills station and game played. See you next year? Perhaps sooner?
Sean Dollars breaks one up the left side for 50 yards, then scores from 10 two plays later. Dollars up to 119 yards and 3 TDs on only 8 carries. 42-7 Mater Dei lead over Amat with 4:36 left.
Chino Hills advances to the D1 championship game with an 89-78 win over LB Poly. Andre Ball finishes with a game-high 37. Onyeka Okongwu added 23 and 14 rebounds. Malik Salahuddin led LBP with 23, Jesse Galloway had 18, Darryl Polk, Jr. 16.
The Hornets are excited to announce that
@Devin_Ugland
has joined our staff as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. We are thrilled to add Devin to our program as he brings an eye for talent, worker’s mentality and respect within the basketball community.

THREAD (1/2): Been thinking about ways I can give back to HS 🏀 players during this difficult time and
@ajg_20
and I figured something out. I’m ready & willing to break down your film: strengths/areas of improvement and AJ will provide a training program to help you get better.
Spent about 26 hours watching basketball at the SoCal Hoop Review this weekend, the best BASKETBALL players I saw were Nico Mannion, Ziaire Williams, Drake London, Jaden Shackelford and Jonathan Salazar.
Final: Santa Margarita 62, Chino Hills 61. CH wanted to go inside to O, couldn’t get it to him there so he popped out for a 3. Eagles are the CIF-SS Division 1 champs.

@HBUSkillsSummit
No. 2 is a wrap! The players bought in to the idea, worked hard during the skills stations (even Yoga), and carried over what they learned into the live game setting.
Back to the drawing board to find ways to make Year 3 better.
Have to give a special shout out to these three high character young men. Christian James (left), Aden Casarez (middle) and Lamont Butler, who were all scheduled to participate in the

Sick to my stomach hearing about Brandon’s tragic passing. He attended both of my camps and always brought his competitive energy and toughness to the floor. Off the court is where he really shined. Very personable, kind and always smiling. Condolences to his family & friends.

Sad day for community sports reporting in Orange County. Tim gave me my first shot at a full-time writing gig with the Tustin News and Santa Ana Register. Great editor, greater human being.
Sad to report I've been notified that my position with OC Register sports, Irvine World News and Tustin News has been eliminated. First, my new email: timburtsports
@gmail
.com It's been a memorable run starting in May of 1984 at the IWN and I've been blessed. More on next tweet.
High school basketball season officially begins today. Those of you who unfollowed me for my football tweets are welcome to come back. I'll be at Ocean View this afternoon/evening for the Jim Harris Classic. Think
@FrankieBur
will be there, as well.
Final in OT: Rancho Christian 85, Sierra Canyon 81. Eagles win Platinum title & hand SC its 1st loss. Dominick Harris led all scorers with 32, Jaden Byers had 20, Evan Mobley 16 and 12 rebounds, Jayce Catchings 13. Ziaire Williams had 28, BJ Boston 27, Terren Frank 12.
I agree with this PSA, but will remove the asterisks: Calm. The. Fuck. Down. It ain’t that serious. Also, parents, put your damn phones down, watch the game, and stop screaming at the refs, especially if little Johnny is 2-for-15 from the field and getting popped by 20.
A friendly bit of advice for everyone in OLu: Calm. The. F**k. Down. It’s not that serious. Except if you’re looking for an opportunity to play at the next level, in that case your antics were just seen by a handful of coaches and...
Final: JSerra 85, Mayfair 75. Ian Martinez finished with 35 points (7 3’s) and 9 rebounds, Max Bowman added 19 with 5 3’s, Justin Williams 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Josh Christopher led all scorers with 42 points. He also had 10 rebounds.
Some standouts from the morning/afternoon set of games at
#Elite100
: Scottie Lewis, Nico Mannion, Bryan Antione, Cole Bajema, Emmanuel Kuac, Zach Crisler, Griffin Effenberger, Nick Davidson
The unsung hero of tonight’s game for Rancho Christian is Bryson Stephens. His defense on Davis resulted in the junior SG missing his last 12 shot attempts of the night.
#BattleZONE
St. Bernard upsets Damien, 67-61, behind 18 points from Amani Harris and 16 each from Romelle Mansel and Nick Bowden. Cameron Shelton led Damien with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Beat all-around game I’ve seen out of Harris.
BTI beats West Coast Elite, 63-61, in one of the most all-around entertaining travel games I’ve seen in a while. 2020 F Ziaire Williams had 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. USC commit Drake London finished with 11 and 10. Nico Mannion 19 and 6 assists.
Some standouts from the first set of games from adidas here in Ladera: Oscar Tshiebwe, Jalen Bridges, Mattia Acunzo (ITPS); Josh Nickelberry (Game Elite); Quincy Guerrier, Keeshawn Barthelemy (Brookwood Elite); Orlando Robinson (Las Vegas Knicks).
Standouts from the second set of

Thanks for putting some more eyes on this, AC. I've had people reach out inquiring about pricing who were surprised to learn that the feedback + evaluations are free.
Yes, free. Find my email, send me game film, include your full name, high school, class, uniform number.
I hope you young ball players out there are sending your game footage to
@Devin_Ugland
for evaluations.. he’s doing a major service for the hoop community & it would be wise to utilize this resource 🙇🏾♂️
I'm not a master statistician, but by my count St. John Bosco rushed for 588 yards as a team with 1 over 200 yards and 2 over 100 yards: Rayshon Luke led the way with 249 on 10 carries, 3 TD, Jabari Bates 194 on 16, 2 TD, Michael Hayes 140 on 11, 1 TD.
