Impt implications for eg newborn screening…. The more genes you look at to predict future disease, the more you will find variants requiring (years of?) clinical follow-up that turn out to be benign
New paper out in @GIMJournal with @rnbeaumont1 @ExeterMed: bigger genes & bigger panels = more benign variants prioritised for diagnostic evaluation. Every ~100 genes adds a rare nonsynonymous variant in around 1 in 5 people in @uk_biobank! https://t.co/5E0R7UCGTD
