This is not progress nor American exceptionalism. This isn’t making America healthy. This is, quite simply, a quiet quitting of science in the US. And a goddamned tragedy.
The FY26 HHS Budget in Brief has been released. It outlines how the existing NIH institutes & centers will be combined into eight (with only NCI, NIA & NIAID retaining their original structure). There are 40% cuts proposed in NIH budget (including the NCI). 😢.Cancer Research 📉
