Memetics science writer / open memetics evangelist. Basically trying to do culture engineering transparently. Does that make sense?

Here is my "memetics 101" article. This summarizes my understanding of this field, why it's important, and who is actively doing work that I am paying attention to

@IanGrygs a specific culture (morality) evolved as optimal, independently, in the same way that a specific physical solution emerged for the bees. We can keep computing the optimal morality by trial and error (by some of us dying and some of us surviving) or by doing science on it.

(1) If you are good at predicting the future with your science, (2) and understand the needs & desires of all agents in the system, (3) you can compute the paths to the outcomes that maximize that @suntzoogway.

morality is not in a separate realm from physical forms. There is a connection between morality and physical science.
@DefenderOfBasic i'm reading through this, and agree that physical processes slowly arrived at advances in physical forms in terms of materials science, but mere physical facts about physical forms say absolutely nothing about morality.

I thought of @blublairies because of this recent highly relevant piece:
api.omarshehata.me
What makes it scary~ Is how it's never singular or isolated… That intelligence itself is the relationship between local and non-local awarenesses.
I love this so much. It really is that sinple. You have to do a lot of mental gymnastics to obscure this simple truth @blublairies

kindness / forgiveness is necessary for survival - by @Faltz009 .
Idk who needs to hear this but kindness is really just the golden rule- and again, it is integral to intelligence expanding blah blah blah.

my favorite part I think was discussing this back & forth between Guy and @farawaylaughtr, and my understanding of both their positions, why perfect prediction is "dangerous", and how to increase predictive power anyway without the failure mode(s).
@farawaylaughtr >linking predictions to outcomes so reputation follows. presumes better predictions should be valued higher than lower (reputation) but by this metric elon sucks and it breaks the magic that he only gets things done bc he can get people to believe impossible things.

(the trick for truth seeking in society is to just shapeshift into whatever form is most appropriate for whatever answer you seek. This is why all memetics institutes are fairly illegible).
it's unethical to write an academic paper about someone without their consent, but it's totally fair game to research & write about them as much as you want if you're a "journalist".
