Everything has been dumbed down so much that when you tell fans that they deserve better quality of work, they get mad at you as if youβre attacking them personally. Romance novels can be written well. So can YA novels. Some writers still do so. There used to be better standards.
i actually think criticism is a good way of engaging with writing and romance novels are not exempt from that just because romance is seen as a βlesserβ genre
