There is a misconception that if you enjoy bourbon/whisk(e)y etc. that you drink a lot or all the time and might have an issue with people who do not drink. The majority of friends that I have do not drink all that much and some do not drink at all. Those who do, can throw more.

This is your daily reminder that if you store passwords, you should salt them like the Romans (allegedly) salted Carthage.
Some comments say the password should be hashed client side. No, that is not good practice:.- you’re replacing the password with hash(password), all else equal, so no benefit there. New hashed pw can still be stolen. - it still needs to be salted and hashed on the backend. -.
