If somewhere or something is ‘fully accessible’ to you, it may not be ‘fully accessible’ to others. Words matter. Terminology matters. #Accessibility

📢 I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again (and again): it’s time to seriously address society’s understanding and interpretation of the term #accessible

📣 #OxfordStreet in #London has a #ChangingPlacesToilet! In the new #IKEA, on level -2. Now this store has only recently opened but I’m sure @IKEAUK will update its website soon (as it has a track record of having CPTs) and also let @ChangingPlaceUK know….

@PrmAssist @united @WHILL_US All innovation is worthy of consideration.. although sometimes I think we look too far into future tech instead of today or even yesterdays tech for the answers.

The white logos are of a person in a wheelchair, a hoist bar, and a changing bed with a person standing behind it. Check out the link below on the @ChangingPlaceUK website for more info: https://t.co/Y7adqYLaqq #ChangingPlacesToilets #AwarenessMatters

The Changing Places symbol can be used on the door of your Changing Places toilet, on wayfinding signage, or in promotional literature.

A bit of my #DotArt for #CPAD23. Want to know more about the #ChangingPlaces toilet logo? The colours used (blue and white) are the same as with all universally recognised accessibility symbols. The circular background is blue to represent the Changing Places space (1/2)

Toilets and Changing Places toilets are crucial in parks especially when big events are on. Last weekend after the concert in Finsbury Park, people were weeing in corners along Blackstock Rd and Highbury Park. Really grim, but there’s no choice if toilets are not provided. 🤷‍♀️

Image descriptions make social media more accessible for blind and partially sighted people. And they only take a moment. Let's make social media more inclusive for everyone! Good #AltText examples from @HashtagHeyAlexa here: https://t.co/1LNfxQbyJH

#DidYouKnow about Camel Case or Pascal Case? It's an accessible hashtag convention for assistive tech and makes for easier visual reading. Always capitalise the first letter of each word i.e., #SusanAlbumParty versus the more ambiguous #susanalbumparty... If you know, you know.

Avoid using fancy fonts on social media. Not only are they hard to read, but screen readers struggle with them too. Stick to simple fonts to ensure everyone can access your content. #A11y
