I'm assuming all of these companies will increase the costs of their goods to fund this? Ironically, making it harder for families to afford groceries.
Every child deserves the best start in life. Which is why we're rolling out free breakfast clubs to schools across the country. Now we’re going even further. We’ve joined forces with some of Britain’s most loved food brands - @Morrisons, @Sainsburys, @Weetabix and

This Government (accidentally?) introduced the GP waiting list.
Proud that our investment in GP surgeries has seen patient satisfaction move back in the right direction - after more than a decade of Conservative neglect and incompetence. We didn't start the fire, but we’re putting it out and re-building the house.

This may affect private General Practice and businesses who run NHS GP contracts, but not your average family doctor.
The nutshell of @Steven_Swinford’s budget story is that the Chancellor will force GPs - along with lawyers, hedge funders, private equity partners and accounts - to pay massively more national insurance. GPs will go bananas. Do Starmer and Streeting really want to go to war

Patients - please don't panic (for once!) Most GPs don't work in this LLP format and therefore will be unaffected if this goes ahead. This isn't the final nail in the coffin on this occasion. *Deep sigh of relief*
EXCLUSIVE: Rachel Reeves will launch a £2 billion tax raid on lawyers, family doctors and accountants as she seeks to balance the books by targeting the wealthy The chancellor is expected to use the budget to impose a new charge on people who use limited liability partnerships

Scaring patients away from pharmacies isn't going to help general practice.
The public may be shocked to learn that there is NO MANDATORY TRAINING for pharmacists in 🏴to become diagnosticians as part of the Pharmacy First scheme. None. Nada. Zero. Let that sink in! How @rcgp & @NHSE_WTE let that happen I’ll never understand. @NickDixonITV @GMB

Here's a simple graph to show you why you can't see a GP in England.
We are now expanding access by allowing patients to make booking requests online - with 85% of practices already delivering this. Sadly a rump of refuseniks in the BMA are dragging their feet, but we will never let the forces of conservatism turn our NHS into a museum.

Today we’re launching Scholar Agent, your AI copilot for scientific exploration. Scholar Agent breaks the shackles of the Google Scholar search experience. It plans and runs multiple searches, applies filters, and synthesizes results into a clear, citation-backed report⤵️

I'm old enough to remember the days when people used to think the NHS could be fixed by helping GPs be more mentally resilient. *Sigh*. Happier times.

UK Doctors. Before you book your one way ticket to Australia, consider if the grass is really greener...
How bad is the public hospital #health system you ask? Well the cardiologists are refusing outpatient referrals for chest pain, because the department is too busy (overworked / understaffed)... …cardiology...refusing...chest pain... #queensland

It's almost as if GPs used technology nowadays to help patients so they don't have to sit in cramped infectious waiting rooms.
🚨🇬🇧 WATCH: GP SURGERY “FULLY BOOKED” — BUT COMPLETELY EMPTY Footage shows yet another GP surgery claiming “no appointments available” while the waiting room sits totally empty. 🔴 Locals say it’s the same story everywhere 🔴 Patients can’t see their own doctors 🔴 The NHS

I’m disgusted by the rhetoric from some GPs in BMA leadership positions calling to sabotage Pharmacy First & overwhelm A&Es. This is reckless, divisive, & undermines patient trust. If you hold a position of influence, it’s time to reconsider your role https://t.co/Ey9K8ycP65

Are there any GP practices out there who are now starting to implement waiting lists for patient appointments to cope with the October contract change?

I had my first letter from a virtual hospital clinic - the clinician asked me to organise tests for the patient close to home. This is great for remote care from a specialist, but - access to GP just got worse - as I'm now busy doing jobs for the virtual hospital.

It is an outrage that £45m is being spent by the UK to train Lebanese police. £45 million could fund around 1.125 million GP appointments, 112,500 A&E visits, or 37,500 scans that could diagnose cancer earlier.

🚨Doctors in Spain are striking. Why? Because our working conditions are unsustainable 🔹 Our base salary is ~€1,300/month. The rest comes from on-calls or “continuity shifts”, meaning we only earn a decent wage by working excessive hours often exceeding 60-70h/week 🔹on-calls

For a free flu vaccines via the NHS you need to be aged 65 or over, OR have a qualifying long term illness or be a carer for a vulnerable individual.
