Hundreds of sets of chains were used by DC fire apparatus during the storm. These chains took a beating, and now need repair. That’s exactly what’s happening here at the Fleet Maintenance Division of #DCsBravest.

Thank you to our #ApparatusDivision team for putting in extra hours and time away from their families on the weekend while working in extreme cold. #WeKeepThemRolling is more than just a saying, it’s a mantra!

January 29 is a day of reflection for all of us at Reagan National Airport. One year after the tragic mid-air collision, we remember and honor the 67 lives lost, their loved ones and the first responders who answered the call.

Today, we pause to remember the 67 lives lost in the mid-air collision above the Potomac River one year ago. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the loved ones of those aboard both aircraft.

This tragic night tested the #DCFD in ways I have never seen. I personally grew as a person and hopefully as a leader as the result. I was fortunate enough to witness acts such as this firsthand over the following days and nights. There are no words, just shared experiences.
The rookie DC Firefighter who stood guard at the body of Army Staff Sergeant Ryan O’Hara’s body will be honored tonight at a service to remember the victims of last Januarys midair crash near DCA.

Navigating snowcrete and icy streets demands caution. Allow extra time to get where you’re going, stay aware of your surroundings, and watch for pedestrians and crews working to keep streets clear.

I was honored to be among those recognized at last nights event. The most impressive thing of the night was the resolve of the victim families to come together and channel love into remembering the victims, supporting each other, and creating a movement of change.
Last evening families and responders gathered in a ceremony “Honoring the 67 & Unsung Heroes” at DAR Constitution Hall to remember the victims & honor the responders. Sponsored by the @dcfireemsfound, the event included plaques, challenge coins & medals for these unsung heroes.

The working end of a #DCFD pumper is truly a work of art. Always nice to see companies taking pride in their apparatus and ensuring their lines are ready for deployment. This is the clear sign of a company who is centered around performance.
