On a cold snowy morning, nothing tastes better than a cup of coffee from the canteen unit staffed by volunteers of the @FFADC. A big round of thanks to them for responding to the fire scene on Nebraska Ave NW and providing refreshments to #DCsBravest.

24 years ago today the @FFADC Canteen Unit & Rehab Unit had arrived on scene to assist the operation at the Pentagon - Rehab Support Unit now known as Canteen 2 was also staffed to support @dcfireems as needed #DCsBravest

The family of Wilbur Carmalt presented Fire Chief John Donnelly and @FFADC with 2 Engine 23 company journals which had been in their possession since his passing. Carmalt retired on disability in 1945 from injuries in an apparatus accident. #DCsBravest

#ThrowbackThursday The old firehouse of Engine 9 at 1628 U St NW. Vehicle in center is a 1958 Chevy station wagon quartered at that station and used by @FFADC as what was then called the “Coffee Wagon” and now known as Canteen Unit. #DCsBravest

On July 19th, 1957, Auxiliary Firefighter William W. Hoake, Engine Co. 31, died in the Line of Duty when struck by the pumper while laying out at the Bureau of Standards Building, Connecticut Ave. & Van Ness Street N.W., Box 7189. He was also a member of @FFADC. Never Forget.

The Friendship Fire Association would like to announce we have postponed our drawing of the raffle tickets till Tuesday June 17th at 8pm. This will allow us to conduct the drawing in our museum during the June FFA meeting. 5 tickets will be drawn for the prizes at this time.
