My intuition is that there is something morally virtuous about (b). but I am much more familiar with epistemic virtues (any reading recommendations are also very welcome).

Question for philosophers:.I'm looking at humility as an epistemic virtue comprising these features:.a) an awareness of one’s own intellectual fallibility. b) respects the epistemic agency and capacity of others. In your view, is there anything morally virtuous about these?.

Long shot perhaps, but does anyone have a copy of the paper 'is it good to be open-minded?' by William Hare (2003)? I am struggling to get access to this particular paper. (Any suggestions of other papers about preserving open-mindedness's virtue status also welcome 😁).

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Giving Page. Cancer is happening right now, and it can affect all of us in one way or another, (it has certainly affected people very close to me) which is why...

Sometimes I use the dictation feature on Microsoft word if I want to think through an idea out loud and then edit the text later. You've got to be careful though, as instead of 'virtue epistemology', it seemed to think I said 'Virtual Pista Mala G' #philosophy #phdchat.

Final year of PhD thoughts: been eating a lot of walnuts recently in the hopes it will make me smart enough to write a decent thesis.

What do you do if want to quote something from a journal article that contains a typo? Do you quote the typo or indicate a correction? I think this article has been translated as I have come across a few (very good article otherwise). #AcademicChatter.

I read some of David Chalmers' work for my undergrad thesis - which feels like forever ago now! It was therefore very cool to see him speak in person at the #APAEastern23 ! 🤖.

Had a wonderful weekend at the @APAEastern meeting in Montréal. It was a delight to be part of an IAPC symposium discussing the role of philosophy in ethics education - my contribution concerned how teaching philosophy may aid the prevention of extremism.
