It's a real shame that no-one publishes a 3D map of our cities that shows the underground as well as the surface. Seeing the tunnels used by pedestrians, trains, roads, clean water, sewage, gas and electricity would be great. Hidden infrastructure that needs to be seen.

In today’s universities, academics exist mainly to prop up administration Research? Too costly Knowledge? Too messy Teaching? Classes crammed to bring in money Bureaucracy has replaced scholarship as the function of universities — fully endorsed by senior management

Public trust & Government funding in universities are in free fall But sure, the skyrocketing & unregulated senior management pay that’s tanking the sector's reputation isn’t worth mentioning Let's keep ignoring it says @UniversitiesUK

In its present form, @officestudents performs no useful role. We would not even notice its abolition It's owned by same people who run @UniversitiesUK, classic regulatory capture Better would be substantial reform to make it an effective regulator https://t.co/D0AAppnRLI

They lie for each other. They cover up for each other. They protect each other Corruption is endemic in university senior management. It's ‘protecting the institution’ After closing of ranks, we get parroting of 'the issue is closed' New blog posting https://t.co/ea2rfn7mpW

The use of GenAI and university management refusing to tackle the problem is the greatest existential risk to universities. We need to tackle this...
There’s no doubt students are using #GenAI in their assignments – but how? Miriam Wun and Nah Yong En of @singaporetech talked to students to find out: https://t.co/P99mSDK9Vd

Had a great sail in windy conditions today. Thankfully that's it for the festive period and I can go back to normality tomorrow. Thank you everyone on the #JoinIn tag.

Pip's philosophy is that she would do something everyday to make her situation better. I'm intending to take this idea along with me. I won't manage a daily thing but I'm aiming to manage something weekly to make my life better (3/3) #JoinIn

As a sailing enthusiast I've been following the Vendée globe race where one of the competitors (Pip Hare) lost her mast and had to get to land with an improvised jury rig. She's an inspirational lady https://t.co/ud6oKYhEQd (2/3) #JoinIn

So I don't feel my life is going well atm. I'm feeling lonely and about the most lost I've felt in my adult life right now for various personal reasons. I'm not making a resolution per se but I am going to try to make a change based on a sailing hero of mine. (1/3) #JoinIn
