It literally pays to make open-source contributions to add ENS support to dapps. @ghostffcode submitted an open-source PR to add ENS support to the SAFE UI and is retroactively getting 0.5 ETH ($2,250) for it. In the ENS ecosystem, if you provide value, you get rewarded.

on the dev side of permissionless, there is a strong "speak truth to power" culture as everyone works to create anti-fragile systems on the fund side, it's mostly crony back scratching. no one wants to speak hard truth to each other to avoid getting cut out of future deals
