For ppl who are diagnosed with conditions that lead to diminished capacity, the lack of legal advance requests is a huge barrier. We are optimistic that this national consultation will lead to swift federal legislation – following the leadership and blueprint developed by Quebec.

The federal consultation on advance requests for medical assistance in dying (MAID) has begun! An online public survey was released this afternoon to gather national feedback on the issue of advance requests, and the deadline is February 14, 2025.
