Extremely proud that we attracted 40 bursary sponsors this year and were in a position to support 60 young musicians attending our summer school. These young people benefited from 5 days tuition with master musicians, breaking down barriers of access. @UlsterUni @ArtsCouncilNI
‘The young players were able to avail of the opportunity thanks to an invitation from the acclaimed fiddler and festival director Dónal O'Connor.’ @DerryNow @derryjournal @columeastwood @eamonnmccannpbp @SandraDuffySF @Feargal_Sharkey

I was told recently that less than 1% of pupils in the UK leave school with fluency in a second language which they studied at school. However 100% of children in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland who are taught through Scottish Gaelic, Welsh or Irish, leave school bilingual.
