The longer I'm around this weird-strange-Earth, the more confident I become that the only thing that really matters is living a life with kindness, curiosity, empathy, and integrity—being the kind of person you hope your child will grow up to be. Everything else is just noise.

When Ken Burns asked every living president to recite the Gettysburg Address in 2013, Pres. Carter shared this story about Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and the Camp David Accords. We are thinking about the President and thought all would appreciate this wonderful story.

i honestly think the biggest hack in life is finding a partner who’s default happy, positive and optimistic. if that’s the base you start with you’re in a very good position to have a happy life

I said goodbye to a patient a few years ago. She didn’t die, she just got old. I treat patients to age 21 and they move on. When they do, I joke, “well, I did my job! I kept you alive until adulthood!” With this kid, it was not a joke. 1/

Yordan Alvarez recorded the 2nd walk-off HR in postseason history by a team down to its final out. The other was Kirk Gibson's walk-off HR off Dennis Eckersley in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series.

There is nothing like watching a derby in a proper pub. BTW there is no love lost for Spurs in Amsterdam. And Arsenal is too much like Ajax, beautiful football but forgetting to score... #ARSTOT

I’m shocked by the streamers in the ejecta. In ordinary granular splash experiments we see nothing like this. A few musings about this in a thread

My English/creative writing degree has been the most valuable ‘thing’ I have in terms of what I can bring to any job. In every job. By far the most valuable tool I will ever have. I work in narratives.

Analysis: Nearly 2 in 5 American college graduates have major regrets. That is, they regret their major. Almost half of humanities and arts majors regret their choice — and enrollment in those disciplines is shrinking rapidly. https://t.co/rwzh7tM5PA

my morning nap ran over. so i am a few minutes late. for my midday nap. this probably means. i will be a little late. for my early afternoon nap. and my post dinner snooze. this is why buffers are necessary. between events on your schedule
