Any exercise physiologists out there thinking these numbers are in any way plausible? Definitely cooked it up and noticed a performance decrease but also didn’t end up in hospital as this data would suggest. @boyntoncoaching @MenaspaP @AbbissC

Been lucky enough to get access to a few CORE sensors over the last few years to aid heat prep for races. Can’t say I rely on them solely for executing heat acclimation sessions and this is partly why. Graph from Stage 1 Tour of Thailand today in 38°C.

Sometimes I feel like we’re making inroads to bridge the gap between sports scientists’ findings from the lab and athletes/coaches practicing in the field. Other times we find a sports scientist trying to gate-keep endurance training…

Set yourself some S.M.A.R.T. goals for 2025. Write them down. Be accountable. Enjoy the process. Learn. Grow. (5/5)

It’s rewarding to tick things off; it’s even more rewarding to push yourself to new limits and see just how far you can get, even if reality gets in the way of some of those dreams. Don’t get so fixated on the destination that you forget to enjoy the journey along the way. (4/5)

While the photo would look much nicer with a page full of green ticks, your goals shouldn’t be confused with a to-do list. If you’re achieving every goal you set for a season you’re either not setting the bar high enough for yourself or your birth certificate says Tadej. (3/5)

Were some maybe a little too ambitious? Yes. Could I have done things different to achieve some of these? Yes. Did circumstances out of my own control prevent me from completing this list? Yes (2/5)

I’m big on learning from the top dogs, not just in my own sport but across all professional sports. This time last year I took a leaf out of @JustinThomas34’s book and wrote down some goals for 2024. As you can see, a lot of them didn’t go so well. 🧵 (1/5)

Train Like a Monk is one of my favourite podcasts, so it was fun to jump on as a guest and have a chat with @Cyrus_Monk (although I’m still unsure about the Would You Rather question regarding hunger flatting or dehydration!! 😵💫🤣) https://t.co/3htBuvegPQ

Always a pleasure to chat with @climbingcyclist. This sport is built on stories and not all of those are full of sunshine and rainbows. Thanks to Matt for helping tell mine.
He might be fighting to find a contract, but @Cyrus_Monk is impressively philosophical about the whole thing. He offers some wonderful perspective in this Q&A.
