Busy afternoon at the #NewportCycleHub drop in repairs. 5 volunteers fixed 7 bikes on the spot, (worn brakes mostly) and we gave away 5 bikes - thanks to all who fundraise, donate bikes and volunteer their time. And if you can spare some time on a Mon or Thurs pm, come and help !

Ex-minister says it shows policy was the most successful road safety initiative in modern times.
Just think of the 706 fewer people killed or injured on urban/village 20mph/30mph roads in Wales in the year since setting a 20mph default as being equivalent to 23 classrooms of children, or 47 rugby teams and you realise the enormity of what Welsh drivers have achieved.

Good article on how the Dutch use 30km/h limits. Amsterdam already has 30km/h on 80% of its roads including many arterials. Higher speeds are very much used only where there are segregated and protected facilities for vulnerable road users. https://t.co/mrgqvOj0ND

Results are in with only a handful of roads in the running to revert back to 30mph. Hopefully the next phase in the process of consultation will only involve the people who live in these areas. It would be interesting to see what their feelings are on what the limit should be.

In the first 9 months of implementing a national default 20mph limit for urban/village roads, 489 people in Wales won prizes as a result. The prize was being one of the 489 people not being killed or harmed on those on those roads.

Not going down the rabbit hole with this sort of engagement tactic we're afraid Jessica. Transport is of course a devolved issue and at present unless used on private land it is illegal to use one in Wales.
