Minneapolis Cargo Bike Library founder Laura Groenjes Mitchell says she was forced to teach her kids to ride in a parking lot because their neighborhood streets were too dangerous. Safer infrastructure is needed to make our communities truly kid-friendly.
The number of children injured or killed by cars while walking or riding a bike has fallen steadily since the 1970s, but CDC researchers note that this decline is not because streets are safer, but because fewer kids are out and about in the first place.

Glasgow is expanding its cycle storage scheme with 720 new spaces in 2025 via 120 @cyclehoop units. In 2023, Cyclehoop secured a 5-year, £2.5m contract to deliver up to 3k spaces. The rollout adds 120 units annually for 3 years, with the rest installed in the final 2 years.
