Walgreens will close five stores in San Francisco next month, citing what it described as a continuing problem of "organized" shoplifting in the city. One of the stores was targeted at least five times by the same man, the authorities said.

Virginia is one of the last states where the fundamental right to a jury trial carries with it the risk that the jury will also impose a minimum (or even maximum) sentence. Most everywhere else a judge can sentence with the aid of guidelines (FAR less risky). /1
