Even more problematic: Very possible Trump undercut the most important piece of leverage the US had (and Obama used) for a deal—that military force, if used, could significantly set back their program. We might not know for sure if it did (doesn’t appear so). But Iran knows.

When I helped found @DemocracyFwd in 2017, our model depended on Big Law support. No more. Now they largely refuse to help. Nonprofit litigators - many of whom turned down Big Law paychecks - are now forced to put their lives aside and pull all nighters to pick up their slack.
