My final PhD chapter is now published in Environmental Science & Technology! We used ¹³C-labelled metabolomics to show how low light and sulfide stress reduce carbon uptake and disrupt metabolism in seagrass.

Prep time is undeniably long for #microsensor measurements but absolutely rewarded by getting instant readings of sulfide intrusion into the #seagrass leaf 🌱.
Back in Australia, training and working with @CoralEMU @Rachel_Austin_ (Gary Kendrick’s lab) at UWA, Perth. Microsensors are now positioned inside the #seagrass leaf, measuring sulfide and oxygen over time. Going to be very interesting to see the final results. @seas_green

🌱 Today I successfully defended my #PhD which explored the application of #metabolomics for Western Australian #seagrass performance assessment! 🌱. 🌱 WA's cost is home to 40% of the world's seagrass species yet we still need to learn more about what makes them happy or sad! 🌱
