Incredible opportunity to learn about mircosensing in seagrass, but the 25micron sensors definitely tests the nerves!.
Back in Australia, training and working with @CoralEMU @Rachel_Austin_ (Gary Kendrick’s lab) at UWA, Perth. Microsensors are now positioned inside the #seagrass leaf, measuring sulfide and oxygen over time. Going to be very interesting to see the final results. @seas_green

Back in 2020 we started a huge mesocosm experiment just as covid kicked off. It was one crazy rollercoaster but it's so great to see the (super interesting) results coming out - have a read! ⏬ 🌱. #seagrass.#metabolomics .#climatechange.
New PhD paper out in @NewPhyt!🎉.We unraveled different response mechanisms in leaf #metabolism of temperate & tropical #seagrasses🌱when exposed to extreme climatic events under #oceanwarming with indication of early warning potential.⏰.Read more here➡️.

Organising and completing a hectare of seagrass restoration in remote Shark Bay was no easy feat but I'm stoked with the results so far!!.
Researchers from UWA have teamed up with indigenous Malgana Rangers and Malgana divers from Tidal Moon to embark on a ground-breaking seagrass restoration project in Shark Bay. Have a watch to learn more!.
