@ConceptualJames Basic logical fallacy, a kind of reverse 'argument from authority'. The source of the idea is irrelevant to the evaluation of the idea itself.

@ConceptualJames Since all ideas, according to Marx, stem from material economic circumstances, it is therefore not difficult to see where Marx's ideas stem from. He was neither bourgeois nor working class, what remains is a lumpenproletarian that rationalized his own unwillingness to work.

@ConceptualJames @wsheeep he was correct about his criticisms and incorrect about his solution It's very easy to criticize things It's much harder to solve them game theory rules everything that doesn't mean it's easy to change the game

@ConceptualJames @wokal_distance The best argument against communism is "Karl Marx was wrong". This is because communists always start with the assumption that Karl Marx was right. I'm sure he meant well and was driven by pity for the mill-workers of Manchester. He was just incorrect, that's all.

@ConceptualJames Solzhenitsyn: Within the philosophical system of Marx & Lenin, and at the heart of their psychology, hatred of God is the principal driving force, more fundamental than all their political & economic pretensions

@ConceptualJames Also, Marx was not famous or influential during his lifetime. No major economists or academics ever mentioned him. Any country practicing 19th capitalism today wouldn’t be considered civilized. He railed against that. So did a lot of people.

@ConceptualJames He also had terrible hygiene, suffered from depression, and hated most people. Was a hateful person and perpetual liar. Blamed all his problems on society and establishment. Heard a podcast where one of the guests had old relatives growing up that knew him personally. Sad

@ConceptualJames Something like politicians, too busy dreaming on the big things to take care of the daily little things that matter more

@ConceptualJames @nancyehead Wait, taking care of the household is the government's job anyway.

@ConceptualJames As far as I know, Marx was financially supported by Fridrich Engels, and not by his wife. He for sure wasn't a good man, but facts are to be exact.

@ConceptualJames Tangential to the OP, but we don't talk enough about Yuri Bezmenov and how the process he described: demoralization, destabilization, crisis, and normalization; has been adapted to run all four stages in parallel to foment a cultural Marxist revolution. In 1980, ex-KGB deputy

@ConceptualJames I roomed with that guy once in college. He got a B+ on a paper about the benefits of Marxism. He used his grade as proof that Marxism worked. He also ate all of our groceries.

@ConceptualJames @47gingie 28% of the world is still doing it though. When that 28% wises up, we will have some more competitors we will have to take seriously.

@ConceptualJames Listening to Marx about economics is like listening to L Ron Hubbard about eternity…

@ConceptualJames Sounds like he was just assuming what worked for him will work for everyone else. Isn't that the same thinking behind centralizing authority to begin with? One size fits all solutions.

@ConceptualJames The unbelievable part is, with that background, people actually thought that anything he came up with was a good idea.

@ConceptualJames There was a song about that years ago “you can’t even run your own life, I’ll be damned if you run mine”. It’s a good yardstick.

@ConceptualJames I agree with all of this, except that it should read, "without even being able to take care of HIS own house."
