24.9% - that's the area of ocean floor on Earth that has now been mapped to "modern standards". The new figure was released this morning by Prince Albert of Monaco at the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) Assembly. An additional 5.4 million sq km of new data -

Thinking about the National Review blogger who spent the whole day writing a post explaining why Harlan Crow paying for Clarence Thomas’s kid’s tuition is Super Cool and Legal, and now has to deal with Leonard Leo being like “GIVE GINNI THOMAS THIS SACK OF CASH, NO FINGERPRINTS”
Exclusive: Conservative judicial activist Leonard Leo arranged for the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to be paid tens of thousands of dollars for consulting work nearly a decade ago, specifying that her name be left off billing paperwork. https://t.co/CKc8KwbEoh

2 friends, 2 Portlands, 1 scathing op-ed. Thanks to @ayanaeliza & @jeanflemma for bringing this reality check on the Willow Project home to #maine (and #oregon too!) #StopWillow #StopWillowProject @PressHerald

The Willow Project may seem far-removed from our two Portlands. The reality is it has grave consequences for the ocean, which many Mainers and Oregonians rely on.

Dear friends, CHECK YOUR FIRE ALARMS. Motivated by the devastating loss of an Aspen Institute colleague to an apartment fire over the weekend, I did. Three of them are nearly 10 years out of date, and weren't making *any noise* at all. Don't be me. Check your alarms.

It was six years ago, and my mate, Pink, had just been told he was going to die. He accepted the news with a grace I can only marvel at, but he said he’d a list of things he’d still like to do. We sat in a pub one night and read it over. Eight things? Four months? Ok. Deal. 🧵

Fair seas and following winds, Dr. Shah. I hope DC treats you as well as you treated #Maine. ❤️🦞💉

Credit where it’s due: @SenAngusKing @SenatorCollins @chelliepingree @RepGolden & @GovJanetMills rolled up their sleeves and fought for their constituents. #Maine should be proud of them for it. Now the hard work to protect whales has to accelerate. https://t.co/HVc3ATruwG

Just as lobsters go through the disruptive, vulnerable shedding process as they grow, the industry itself must now prepare for an uncomfortable period of upheaval.

This, plus the complete inability of cord-cutters like me to watch any regular season games thanks to @MLB’s inane broadcast policies. Having in-market games only available on a network one can only get with a cable or satellite subscription in 2022 is fanbase malpractice.
Sometimes I wonder how I went from a diehard Red Sox fan to a more casual fan to someone who maybe watches one televised non playoff game a year and then I see what they’re doing with Xander and I’m like oh yeah that tracks
