One of my greatest regrets from when I played is not holding my friends/teammates on the team, and even my friends not holding me, to the highest standard. If peer pressure amongst the squad is that of complacency rather than perpetual improvement then winning becomes tough.
Peer pressure is powerful. It might be the most accurate measure of day to day culture.
On the elite teams it propels people forward to a high standard.
On average teams it pulls people backward to a lower standard.

The dude sat down in our office in fall & told us that his goal was to be the Pitcher of the Year. He proceeded to not only lead the conference in ERA, IP, and CG’s, but our team (who the same group of people who voted for this picked us to finish 8th) to the 2 seed. A true ace.

Please take your education seriously. Whether you’re 18 or 40 we all eventually get kicked off the diamond. It doesn’t matter if you play at the NCAA, NAIA, or JC level, put yourself in a position to be successful professionally after baseball.

Rest in peace Betty Lou Treadway. The greatest grandma in the whole world. Last things she was barely able to say to me on Tuesday was “Be Happy” and “I love you”. I’m so glad we were able to see her one last time.

After much consideration I’ve decided to say goodbye to my beard. After an incredible run & a lot of good times it’s time for my next chapter & I’m excited to be back to being clean shaven. At this time I will not rule out a comeback but this is the direction I am going for now.

Austin just threw his first bullpen with a small yellow toy ball to our front door. The dude shoved! Had a nasty cutter working, put the 4-Seam on the hands consistently, and threw a real soft splitty as his out pitch. Had him shake the door’s hand after for catching the pen.

If you are a prospective recruit I strongly suggest that in the recruiting process you inquire about how a program is going to develop you. It’s easy to get caught up in the resumes of coaches or how much love you’re getting but that doesn’t matter once you get on campus.

High School/College athletes that have the means to do so, INVEST IN A QUALITY PAIR OF TRAINING SHOES. It makes a huge difference. Your traditional footwear literally leaks power out of the soles. Nike Metcons and Reebok Nano X are great options!!

Our focus for this fall was to throw hard and be nasty. I’m game we had a K/9 of 9.29 along with a hard hit pertcentage of 19% of all balls in play. This led to a SLG against .254 and a BABIP of .273.
OBP against of .364 needs to improve but really strong fall from our pitchers!
