My freshman team has been forced into the gym or cafeteria to practice several days because of the heat.

South San Football Max Preps regional ranking when I took over was 224 - last year 70. National ranking 11,805 when I started - finished 4,553. Beat Mac HS 1st time in history. Best defense since 2004 in yard give up. Most points scored per game since 2010.

Today we go and scrimmage in the same heat we were not allowed to be in.
60 plays scr. And players not truly acclimated to the outside conditions .
IMO this is one rule that needs to be rethought.
In protecting the health of a player we may have made it worse.

I worked for a very successful HS coach that did not ever have an INDY period. EVER!
Well, the skills never had skills. The OL had 20-30 minutes a day.
He believed if the skills can't run or catch now, why do it.
He believed we need to run our plays and get reps.
