If people can pack into a fairground by the hundreds to watch a Demolition Derby with no spacing or mask requirements, there is no reason why Fall sports can’t happen with fans.
No feeling in the world could ever match this feeling!
@_alyssawolfe
and I welcomed our first child, Brigham Kenneth Board, to the world last night. I hope our child is just as strong and passionate as her!
Had an intrasquad scrimmage tonight; no fans allowed inside the facility and this is what we got! Fans along the fence. Grills going, tents.. it doesn’t get much better than those Friday Night Lights!!

Please let fans be able to attend games, not so they can watch their kids, but so we can get the correct play calls in and know who to get the ball to!

@logynratliff__
first career college touchdown pass went to high school rival and Sheridan High School grad
@LoganRanft3
! Wishing you both many more successes to come!
Could not be happier for my guys tonight! They came out and balled out!! Great effort by everyone. 400+ yards of offense, 4 interceptions by the D. All around great job. Only the 6th playoff win in school history! They deserve every bit of this joy for their efforts this year.
There isn’t a harder working AD in the land than Anthony Stephens!! Nobody sees the hours he puts in off the clock to make our athletics go! He’s made so many sacrifices for the betterment of NL athletics. Thankful for such a great leader in these times! This is Sunday evening..
With his 266 yard passing performance Friday,
@logynratliff__
is now the New Lexington High School record holder for passing yards in a career with 3,201 and counting. The previous record was 3,188 set by Panther great Clint Cannon.
Little eyes are always upon you!
@HambelSydney
getting some mileage in tonight around town. As she’s running, a small girl asks if she could run with her; Sydney slowed down to let her run along side her.
Two years ago today, I became a New Lex Panther! While it was hard to left something special that I built, I’m so thankful to be where I am. I love my job. I love my team. I love my girl. Life couldn’t be much better!
Our athletes are blessed! This is our first year starting an extended first period lifting class. Lifting, speed and agility, and flexibility all year while still being able to play multiple sports. Additionally, they’re getting their nutrition each morning from breakfast.
Huge shoutout to our students, parents, and community for the turnout last night. It may have been their homecoming, but it felt like a home game for us! Thank you for your support!!
Thankful I was able to come back and watch my guys play last night and to see these 3 senior guys play their last game in the red and black. Also great to see a lot of my Track superstars and catch up with old friends! Petersburg will always have a special place in my heart!
The toughest thing about sports is that successes and moments of growth occur in many kids every time they step on the field or court, but the scoreboard is what most outsiders see as overall success or failure. Our guys are fighting and growing!
All losses hurt. Regardless of who you play and how you play, it always sucks to lose. We will regroup and bounce back. Life is about handling adversity when it comes, sports are no different. We can sulk or we can grow from it and keep moving forward.
Thoughts and prayers to
@shaun_pletcher9
on a speedy recovery. Balled out tonight and always leaves every bit of himself on the field! Been an absolute difference maker for us all season.
After one season at Ohio University as the Offensive Coordinator on NCAA revamped, I’m excited to announce that I have been offered and accepted the head coaching job University of South Florida. A rebuild is needed, but we can do it!
#GoBulls
For a Senior, with everything that has transpired today, to send a thank you text truly speaks to this young mans heart and character. He didn’t owe me this. He has every right to be hurting right now, but instead wanted to send me this. Truly shows how rewarding coaching is.
What a difference a year in the weight room makes when you fully commit yourself! From 8th grade signing day last February to nearly a 900 pound squat/bench/deadlift combo. Perfect off-season attendance this winter/spring. It’s not complicated, it just takes dedication!
@Challenger_ST
Our school has had a ton of success in athletics across the board this year. Coincidentally, this is our second full year of all of our athletes having a lifting class during the school day all year long.
I don’t think that that is a coincidence.
Good news,
@laynetalbot14
had no broken bones or any severe damage last night.
Bad news, he walked out the hospital last night like this in an attempt to set a new fashion statement..
Pictures from tonight’s locker room dedication in honor of BJ Padgett. Very honored to be able to call our team’s space “The 88” in his honor. Thank you to everyone that came out to support our program and the Padgett family.
#ItTakesAVillage
You’re telling me that not a single person in that room said, “maybe we shouldn’t release this as BREAKING NEWS because so many people are waiting for an announcement on upcoming sports, not something that isn’t coming until next February or March?”
Congratulations to Logyn Ratliff on being the local Elks Player of the Week. Logyn completed 67% of his passes for two scores, rushed for another, and added two interceptions on defense-one of which he returned for a touchdown, his second pick six of the season.
Coach - “Hey man, why aren’t you coming to team workouts?”
Player - “I like bulk workouts better.”
‘I’m going to do my own thing’ is what keeps a lot of teams from taking the next step. Workout with your teammates. Compete with your teammates. Win with your teammates!
Last week, team captains drafted off-season teams. One of the team captains texted all of his teammates and said they needed to start coming to weightlifting. He drove 20 minutes out of town to pick up a freshman and bring him in this morning. That’s a sign of a great teammate!
I wish there were words to console the Seniors for the experiences that they have missed out on with the final days of school, winter tournaments, and all of spring sports being cancelled. Thinking of all the students, athletes, and coaches that are missing so many memories.
Unless you have worked at a place where you’ve had to line the field, pull the sprinkler out, and do all the other stuff that just has to get done, no way you can fully appreciate being at a place that you don’t have to. Don’t be too big or too important to do little things.
Congratulations to former Panther
@LukasRatliff
who finished with 5 tackles and 2 interceptions in his first collegiate start today against Baldwin Wallace!!
19 years ago today, 2,996 people went to sleep for the last time. Those people had no idea that their life would be taken the next day. Treasure every moment and never take saying ‘I love you’ for granted. Our country needs to galvanize now, just as we did then.
#NeverForget
Today, we welcomed 17 new Panthers to our Football family during our annual 8th Grade Signing Day. Due to quarantines and Snow Days, we were not able to do it on Signing Day. We are excited for these young guys and their bright futures!
RB
@HunterR93269022
tied a school record last night with his 6 rushing TD’s. No need to wonder who holds that record, the great Drew Cannon, twice, as well as Kevin Cannon, Charles Pertuzzi, and Jim Rockwell.
Hunter rushed for 237 yards on 23 carries last night.
Senior WR Tatem Toth continued his historical career last night, this time breaking the league record for receiving yards in a career on his 61 yard touchdown catch. He surpasses Wade Warner of Tri Valley, which had 2,021 yards from 2005-2007. Tatem now has 2,076 yards.
Congratulations to the Elks Player of the Week for Week 1, Senior WR/FS
@connarb4
Connar had a stellar performance, leading the team with 7 total tackles and a fumble recovery on defense. He also added 1 reception for 15 yards and a TD on offense.
Congratulations Connar!
But I do not agree that certain events have restrictions and others none or very limited. Just as fairs are important to those families, sports are equally important to others, maybe not financially, but mentally, emotionally, and physically. I want fairs and fall sports.
11 years ago was the worst day of my life- I lost my hero and my biggest fan.
Hug your loved ones tight and tell them you love them, you never know when that last time will be.
#RIPDad
There’s so much negativity in the world right now; find some positive. This Stay Home time is the perfect time to work on your physical/mental health. Read a book. Write. Exercise. FaceTime your friends. Catch up on sleep. Go for a walk. Eat better.
Be the best version of you!
Great scrimmage tonight!! A lot of very good things. We still have some things to improve, but we got better today and we got our healthy. We also collected 2 ice bath tubs full of canned goods to be donated to local food pantries! Big shoutout to the community for your support!
Just under a year ago, Tatem Toth set the school record for receiving yards in a game. Last night, he broke his own record with 204 yards on 8 catches.
Congratulations to Senior RB/LB
@christianlv21
on being named the local Elks Player of the Week for week 2.
Christian was an animal on the ground rushing for 175yds and 2 TDs on 14 carries. He added one catch for 39yds and a score while leading the team in tackles defensively.
Happy birthday to our tireless and fearless Athletic Director, Anthony Stephens! Nobody will ever know how much of your own time you sacrifice for the betterment of our athletes and sports teams. Thank you for all that you do!
@NewLexAthletics
Great job tonight by our guys to take down Claymont 26-6. Plenty of good to be happy about! Really appreciate all the fans coming out, especially all the students-great to hear the student section!
Junior WR Tatem Toth continues to rewrite the receiving record books, finishing the year with the most receiving yards in a season with 1155 yards. He already owns the record for receiving yards, which he set last year and broke this year.
More Weight Room updates!!
No more particles in your eyes when slamming the med balls!
No more piles of bumpers stacked on the floor!
New belts!
Different strength resistance bands for every rack for pre/rehab, banded exercises, or assisted pull-ups.
Stay tuned, more to come…
College coaches: as you start preparing for the class of 22, be sure to keep an eye on
@hunterkellogg2
Has led team in tackles back to back years, 4.6 GPA, 3 sport athlete, and the highest football IQ player you’ve ever had, GUARANTEED!
