I can't imagine the path forward doesn't include using the same land. With the history being what it is, I think I like the idea of a rebuild while the team is temporarily relocated for a year or so. Probably the most expensive option, though. :/

I think this might be in my top three skills for youth players to work on. That first touch is tough for many players, but a directional first touch is really rare amongst most youth players but it makes a huge difference.

main things in this drill for u to try
1. directional first touch off movement. ball coming in HARD
2. harder to see this..working on breaking lines w a VERY NARROW gate pass. there was a triangle of cones in front of vianney that u can’t see too well. make it NARROW

It's the attacking full-backs for me. Teaching players to be creative despite their "position" is part of player development that is difficult to decode at the younger ages.
From the very youngest of ages, we immediately begin teaching players to understand shapes and spaces but

The rebound-wall: The truly reliable tool to get more touches on the ball and improve foot-skills. I tell players that one of the best ways to improve their foot-skills is to use this tool and get more touches than anyone else.

If you hold a tryout and select the players, do not delay notifying players/parents. Set a deadline when decisions will be made, and let people know where they stand. I highly recommend the live phone call or in person meeting as the primary methods for notifying others.

Great point. Quick switch of the field here, but youth coaches as well, can literally reverse a young person's love of the game. Unfortunately, when young players are unlucky to be working with a poor coach, along with no other teams to play with, the might just quit. ;(

This is a frustrating post and I'm sad to read it. Harsh reality of today's ⚽ climate. It's a search for the most-green grass. I see it in the youngest of ages where we've literally got parents moving their kids to other clubs because they believe it is better for their kid.

This is tremendous! There's no doubt that there's a love of the game deep inside of this young man. However - make no mistake - the coach didn't put it there, but he absolutely was part of the encouragement and confidence building that helped ignite the passion for the game!
