Working families across New York State have no more bootstraps to pull themselves up from. As prices for basic necessities have gone up, wages have remained stagnant. Tying our wages to the rate of inflation is far overdue. $21.25 is not is not a luxury — it’s life sustaining.

Las familias trabajadoras de todo el estado de Nueva York no tienen más recursos para levantarse. A medida que aumentaron los precios de necesidades básicas, los salarios permanecieron estancados. $21.25 no es un lujo, es un sustento de vida.

@CnDelarosa @NewYorkStateAG @CentralLaborNYC @32BJSEIU @CWAUnion @local79nyc @DC37nyc @DC9_IUPAT @nychange @nynurses @ALIGNny I agree, but I believe you should also introduce @CMAmandaFarias 's proposal about retiree healthcare to the city council. Many retirees accepted low wages for years because they were promised great healthcare in their retirement. Now that promise is being broken.
