I also wanted to highlight #CryoNet's focus lecture given by Juri @RappsilberLab who took us on an in depth tour into crosslinking MS, both in vitro and in cell. So much to learn about diff xlinkers one can use and what to watch out for when distinguishing signal from noise!.

Didn't get to tweet about #CryoNet yesterday arvo after my phone died 😂 so shoutout now to @ProteoFrankie from @UCPH_CPR who told us about the structural basis for DNA transposase mechanism. So much potential for applications bc this transposase can transpose huge cargoes!.

The first morning of #CryoNet comes to an end, I've learned about computational advanced from Dari Kimanius and Carlos Sánchez, new grid types from Arjen Jakobi, an unusual enzyme mechanism from Derek Logan and some really cool ion channels from Olivia Andén!.

Am I the only one who feels this earthquake in #ScientificPublishing? @eLife will publish all reviewed papers as "reviewed preprints" without making an accept/reject decision along with the review. How this changes sci publishing will remain to be seen, exciting!.
Today, we’re introducing a new model that eliminates accept/reject decisions. By publishing every paper with eLife reviews as a Reviewed Preprint, we plan to restore autonomy to authors, ensuring that they will be judged by what, not where, they publish.

Very good advice on creating a presentation that a diverse (research topic-, career stage- and other-wise!) audience can follow and profit from 🤩.Include avoiding or explaining abbreviations too 😁.
Giving an inclusive research presentation means presenting enough background to get audience members on the same page. Walk people through the data - don’t assume anyone knows what they’re looking at on your graphs. Summary: Less data, more background.
