When I post reservations on #AssistedDying, the response from its supporters is always the same: choice. As if nothing more needs to be said. I’ve heard the same from Parliamentarians. It’s a good argument, individual choice matters, but does it outweigh everything else? 1/6

I have retired from seeing patients now but most days I think about it I think about what I got wrong. Usually in the diagnosis Diagnosis is difficult. Algorithms pick up common presentations. Rarely is this real life. This is why training, experience and supervision are vital

Highlighting the importance of careless words
During the week I sat for an hour with a man who has terminal cancer. He can no longer swallow and he knows he doesn't have long, but his brain is fine. He was full of praise for his palliative care team. He has very little pain, can breathe well, doesn't have any nausea now. 1/4
