Oof. Describing an expat able to get vaccinated back in the US as "might have just gotten lucky", other countries as "less strict" and Germans as "impatient" misses the mark. Other govs are acting with a sense of vaccine urgency. People I speak to in Germany are f-ing furious.

The Family and Medical Leave Act has helped many Americans take time off to care for themselves and their families, but it leaves far too many people forced to choose between a paycheck and caregiving. This has to change. We need a national paid family and medical leave program.
