Supporting small businesses is critical to the local economy. I enjoyed meeting with Long Beach business owners across the city and thanks to the Mayor and City Council for joining us.

Today, I visited Transformational Living Homes, Inc., which is an organization that provides transitional and permanent housing for the housing insecure.

We discussed potential avenues for their team to partner with the city as we work to address the homelessness emergency—and I had the opportunity to meet clients of theirs who are being positively impacted by their services.

Thank you to Constance Gilkie, TLH, Inc., and their team for meeting with me today. It’s clear that they care about program participants, and I look forward to continuing this conversation with them.

This week we feature the City of Long Beach Proposed Fiscal Year 2024 Budget, reopening of the Mark Twain Neighborhood Library, Bayshore Neighborhood Library temporary closure and Long Beach Utilities resuming shutoff for outstanding payments.

Thank you to @GavinNewsom for the $380 million for the Port of Long Beach to expand clean energy and rail. This is a huge and significant grant from the state and I joined @AsmLowenthal & @CindyAllenLBC to celebrate this huge win for Long Beach.
