It’s never too early – or late – to protect your brain. Research shows dementia prevention could begin as early as childhood.

Interviewed by The Telegraph last week to discuss whether 'middle-age spread' might compromise brain health. TL;DR: Complex area, but it probably does. @MRCLHA @UCL_ICS @UCLPopHealthSci @ARUKscientist.

Brief quote from me in yesterday's Daily Mail article on young onset dementia. Was asked to provide a 'robust answer' on whether lifestyle changes could help to prevent the disease. Robustly answered 'maybe'.

It is the memory-robbing disease that people fear the most as they age - and it is even more tragic when it strikes early. One of those affected is actress Pauline Quirke.

Enjoyed speaking about careers in STEM on the Engage Stage at this year's New Scientist Live. My first time being introduced with the help of a smoke machine and techno soundtrack. Will now be insisting on a similar entrance for all future conference talks.
