Update: Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue advises that this fire is now classified as Under Control, meaning suppression efforts have ensured it will not spread further. Firefighting personnel may remain on the scene, patrolling the fire and extinguishing hot spots. #TrailBC.

Deepest condolences to Firefighter Devyn Gale’s family, friends and to members of the BC Wildfire Service. Devyn will be remembered for her commitment to community, being considerate, hardworking and her smile.
With heavy hearts we lowered our flags at the #RDKB headquarters today in honour of BC Wildfire Fighter Devyn Gale, 19, who died while responding to a blaze near Revelstoke. A tragic reminder of how dangerous the job, and wildfire season, can be.
