Mental health care is one of the most vital areas of care, especially if we or a relative is suffering. The toll mental illness takes on the individual as well as their entire family is grossly underestimated. Mental health stigma is pervasive, even within medicine.
It really angers me that those who run the NHS appear to believe that the treatment and care of people with mental illness (of their physical and mental healthcare needs), is somehow less deserving of a properly trained and competent professional than other areas of Medicine.

It’s not just dating. It’s collective awareness that any relationship can be betrayed any time, by taking private experience into public spaces for audience consumption. The message is clear: the audience matters more than the human being. Dignity & decency are no longer a given.

One of the many things I enjoy about getting older is the fact that I retain all my youthful feistiness, but it is now mixed with the mellow perspective which only comes from gathering years of experience. “All is harvest.”

“One need not sound the false or inspirational note to stress the truth that depression is not the soul's annihilation. Men and women who have recovered from the disease, and they are countless, bear witness to what is probably its only saving grace: it is conquerable." - Styron

I knew Andy Warhol briefly in the early ‘70s, (an old boyfriend was one of his film ‘superstars’ ). I loved his simple wisdom, exemplified by his views on change: “They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself.” ― Andy Warhol
