Excited to give a talk at @Winter_QBio this Tuesday, 2/18 during session 1! I’ll be discussing our work using spatial transcriptomics to resolve temporal dynamics in the seminiferous epithelial cycle. Come say hello and chat science!.

Our hotel also didn’t have any alternatives 🤦.
Was just served Copper Sulphate water "with the goodness of copper" in Delhi. Turns out it's extremely toxic and terrible for you (even though it's 0.0004%). The only website that says otherwise is Tata Copper. Why not just have plain water? What the hell

Released my preprint! Here, we leverage spatial information to resolve temporal dynamics in male germ cell development! We reveal that Sertoli cells are precisely synchronized with periodic germ cell development and have an innate cyclic program independent of the germ cells!.
Our new preprint with S.Yoshida and B.Simons! Led by @ChakraArun, we leverage spatial information to resolve temporal dynamics in spermatogenesis!. Also check out a complementary preprint by S.Y. and B.S using live imaging! (1/10).

Some work during my time at Rockefeller showing how fruit flies navigate decision making! Finally out in @Nature.
It's out! Curious to know what happened in your brain to make you stop and read this tweet 🤔?. We found a rise-to-threshold process in specific fly brain neurons for a "similar" type of decision! @Nature . (🧵1/11)

2nd preprint describing the egg laying behavior and decision making in more detail!.
(1/13) Posted my 2nd preprint! . Can flies build/update a "model" of their environment and use it to guide decisions?. We tracked flies as they decided whether to lay eggs and inferred what they "know" about their local environment.

From our preprint! The fly walks on a 3D-printed treadmill with different substrates while simultaneously being imaged via two photon microscopy. We’ve found a rise to threshold in oviDNs related to the relative value of the substrate. At threshold, an egg is laid.
(1/2) The rise-to-threshold decision signal from our preprint in action! The signal dips when the fly prepares (ovulates) an egg and then hits a threshold level just before the fly bends her abdomen to lay it. [5X speed, cell body GCaMP is highest (red) just before egg laying]

Check out @vikram0285’s exciting work showing evidence of integration in a neural circuit! Very happy that I could be a part of this project.
(1/12) Posted my 1st preprint!. Curious to know what might happen in your brain as you browse a restaurant menu?. We find a rise-to-threshold neural signal that dictates a "similar" decision in flies!.
